M.E. GROUP and Forte Building Science, a division of M.E. GROUP, launched the firm’s WELL initiative by engaging each of our offices in a company-wide program designed to align with our WELL Consulting services.
The first step was to enjoy a healthy breakfast together and hear and presentations from our WELL AP certified team members. With a focus on WELL, the WELL Building Standard™, and the 7 Concepts of WELL, the events educated and engaged our building engineers and scientists on the benefits of the WELL program and how our firm will begin implementing the components outlined by the International WELL Building Institute™ (IWBI).
WELL is administered by IWBI, a public benefit corporation whose mission is to improve human health and well-being through the built environment.
As people-focused engineers and scientists, it is our goal to not only create efficient and sustainable buildings that work well for the occupants, but also factor in their comfort, health and well-being. What is the WELL Building Standard™? According to www.wellcertified.com, WELL:
- Creates healthier, more productive places for people
- Provides a performance-based framework to measure and evaluate buildings on their impact on the people within
- Positions design and building operations as an agent of public health
- Measures, certifies, and monitors building features that impact health and wellbeing
In addition to the presentation, our WELL APs rolled out “WELL journals” and invited team members to live the 7 Concepts of WELL by setting goals inspired by the components and tracking their progress throughout the month of January.
