Ravi Maniktala is the President of the firm and a Principal of M.E. GROUP / design+green.

Since the 1970s, Ravi has advocated for sustainable building practices and, until 1986, taught architectural and engineering courses at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. 


In 1982, Ravi opened the doors of M.E. GROUP / design+green to work with both public and private clients on projects ranging from engineering design to developing sustainable initiatives to executing complex retro-commissioning programs. Throughout the 25+ years, Ravi has focused on integrated design -- merging the disparate practices of engineering and architecture into sustainable building design.


Today, Ravi utilizes his in-depth experience develop and implement high-performance and green building solutions. He continually poses the question: How can we make buildings more energy efficient?

Rick Maniktala is a Vice President of the firm and a Principal of M.E. GROUP / design+green.

Rick has nearly 20 years of high performance engineering design and management experience. Rick’s professional engineering experience spans public and private projects, including renovations, additions and new construction.  While Rick’s resume includes projects in nearly every market sector, he has a special focus in the healthcare arena, including hospitals, clinics, outpatient and hospice facilities.


As an active member of the Rotary Club, Rick continually strives to make a positive impact on others.  It is this same passion that drives Rick’s focus on developing healthy and energy-efficient buildings.

Pete Jefferson is a Vice President of the firm and a Principal of
M.E. GROUP / design+green.

Pete has led the design of some of the nation’s most energy-efficient buildings, with a special focus on Colorado educational facilities.  Pete is an advocate for high-performance buildings both through his projects and his community involvement, whether he is providing the Colorado Governor a private tour of a high-performance school or sitting on the U.S. Green Building Council Colorado Chapter’s Green Schools Advocacy Committee.

In 2008, Pete achieved the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) designation of a high-performance building design professional (HBDP), one of only approximately 100 engineers across the country with the designation.

Nate Maniktala is a Vice President of M.E. Group and a Principal of M.E. GROUP / design+green.

Nate leads a combination of technical and business consulting for the development and implementation of sustainable strategies into the operation, construction and/or design of buildings.  Drawing from his background in business management and 12 years of experience in the architectural engineering industry as a developer and consultant, Nate focuses on delivering the greatest net value to clients.


Nate is an active speaker and advocate for 'green building' and is a member and Regional Chapter Representative of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), Association of Energy Engineers and American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).

Andrew Thompson is a Vice President of the firm and a Principal of M.E. GROUP / design+green.


Andrew provides engineering consulting for a diverse mix of public and private projects throughout the United States.  He has extensive experience with the design of innovative mechanical systems.  Andrew’s projects include the top two performing buildings in the General Services Administration, according to a national study released in 2008.  As an advocate in the building community Andrew regularly volunteers his time. In 2008, he co-authored the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning (ASHRAE) high-performance building design professional (HBDP) certification. 


Andrew is a member of the following organizations: American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning (ASHRAE); U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC); ABC Commissioning Group (ACG).

Dave is a mechanical technical expert for the firm.  He has over 30 years of experience in the mechanical and electrical engineering fields with an emphasis in healthcare facilities.  As one of the original members of the firm, Dave is responsible for the technical development of numerous of the firm’s engineers and projects.

As one of the original members of the firm, Ray is responsible for the technical development of numerous of the firm’s engineers and projects.

Debbie has been with M.E. GROUP / design+green since its inception, and her experience includes administration, human resources, marketing and management.  Debbie’s official responsibilities are managing firm operations, administrative staff, recruiting and human resources, and Secretary of the corporation.

John is responsible for leading
M.E. GROUP / design+green’s quality control process with specific expertise in mechanical systems.  He has over 30 years of mechanical design and production experience, and has been with the firm for more than 20 years.  In addition to the quality control process, John provides commissioning support to M.E. GROUP / design+green’s clients.

Ron is responsible for leading
M.E. GROUP / design+green’s quality control process with specific expertise in electrical systems.  He began in the construction industry as an electrical contractor in addition to nearly 20 years of experience in the design industry.  Ron is a mentor within the firm and industry.  He is an active member of IEEE (the world's leading professional association for the advancement of technology) and BICSI (a professional association supporting the information transport systems industry).  In addition to the quality control process, Ron provides commissioning support to M.E. GROUP / design+green’s clients.
