GROUP / design provides energy modeling services to improve the decision making process for various design strategies ranging from envelope performance criteria to mechanical air distribution. The firm has completed hundreds of whole building energy simulations utilizing Trace 700, eQuest, EnergyPlus and DOE-2 software.

In combination with our high-performance design expertise, M.E. GROUP / design uses energy modeling techniques to determine the optimal combination of building components. Our goal is to improve energy efficiency while maintaining comfort and cost-effectiveness. Furthermore, the data from the energy models can be utilized as a part of a measurement and verification plan to optimize the building’s performance during operation.
In collaboration with M.E. GROUP / design, the firm’s energy modeling services are often provided as a third-party service to clients, including numerous other mechanical and electrical engineering firms.
