Cass Regional Medical Center
Harrisonville, Missouri

Cass Regional Medical Center is a new 138,000 square foot hospital.  M.E. GROUP met stakeholders early on in the process to ensure that the client's energy efficiency goals were a top priority. The 35-bed facility includes a medical/surgical unit, intensive care unit and behavioral health unit. The facility includes a new central plant which allows for a 30,000 square foot expansion.  To reduce energy consumption, M.E. GROUP utilized high efficiency boilers, water-cooled centrifugal chillers with indoor condenser water sump and vari-prime pumping.

Lincoln, Nebraska

M.E. GROUP was the Prime Consultant for Nebraska Heart Hospital, a state-of-the-art healthcare facility.  The hospital is the second all digital hospital in the country, and the "paperless" facility enhances medical care by keeping accurate records and allowing for instant access by physicians.  A project of this magnitude usually takes multiple years to complete.  Because of the team structure, the new facility was completed in 16 months from the day land was purchased.

Saunders Medical Center
Wahoo, Nebraska

M.E. GROUP provided full MEP engineering services for the hospital.  The campus consists of a 60,000 square feet full-service hospital and clinic space, and a 30,000 square feet long-term care facility.  Based on the owner's intent, mechanical and electrical systems were designed to maximize energy efficiency, comfort, maintenance and infection control.

The entire building is conditioned with a full central plant that provides both hot and chilled water.  The central plant system is utilized as a heat pump hybrid system in the long-term care area.  Two custom central station air handling units condition the hospital to meet AIA and ASHRAE health care guidelines.  The variable air volume system is designed for comfort and energy efficiency.  The surgery suites are conditioned with stand alone custom roof-top units capable of providing a wide range of temperature and humidity conditions within the spaces as desired by the surgeons.
